Private phone numbers and eSIMs: choose the right product

A phone number and a mobile-data connection solve different problems. Before paying for either, decide whether you need internet access while travelling, an incoming SMS, or a number you can keep. Buying the wrong category can leave you connected but unable to receive the message you need.
Start with the job, not the privacy label
A data eSIM provides a mobile-data plan. Do not assume that it includes a telephone number, ordinary calls or incoming SMS. A number product may support messages without supplying mobile data. Check the exact plan, country and capabilities at checkout; products and supported destinations change.
The 0xNull phone and eSIM page links to the provider. For current specifications, compare nadanada’s eSIM plans with its phone-number products. Those are external services, so their availability and terms govern the purchase.
A temporary number is a poor recovery anchor
If a number expires, is reassigned or stops receiving messages, it can cease to be a usable recovery route. Do not make a disposable number the only way back into an important account. Where the service supports them, use a passkey or an authenticator and keep recovery codes securely offline.
Before buying a longer-lived number, establish its renewal rules, what happens after non-payment and whether the destination service accepts that type of number. Receiving one message does not establish future compatibility.
Check the device and activation conditions
Confirm that your device supports the offered eSIM, is not carrier-locked against it and supports the destination network. Read when validity begins: purchase, installation and first connection are different events. Save the installation instructions privately, and do not post a reusable activation QR code publicly.
What private purchasing does not hide
An offer without identity-document checks does not make a handset invisible to its mobile network. Providers, payment processors and destination services may each handle information. A cryptocurrency payment does not erase device identifiers, network activity or information you voluntarily supply. Choose a product on its documented properties, not on an absolute promise of anonymity.
Questions
Does every eSIM include SMS?
No. Check the specific plan; a data-only eSIM is not a phone-number service.
Should I use a temporary number for account recovery?
Not as your only recovery route. Expiry or reassignment can make it unavailable.
